Asia Cup 2023: Teams, Groups, Schedule, Dates, And Venue Details. The 16th edition of the Asia Cup will be held between six teams beginning on August 31 and ending on September 17, 2023, with all matches being played as One Day Internationals (ODIs). A total of thirteen One Day International games will be played at the event. Asia Cup 2023 will be co-hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The competition this year will feature teams from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.

Each team will compete against the other teams in their respective group in a group stage of the competition. Each group’s top two teams will advance to the Super Four stage of the tournament. The top two teams from the Super Four stage will meet in the championship game on September 17, 2023. In the previous edition of the Asia Cup, Sri Lanka is the defending champion, having won the tournament by defeating Pakistan.

Members of Group A include India, Pakistan & Nepal. In this particular group, the rivalry between India and Pakistan lends added thrill and excitement to the Asia Cup event, with a history of fierce meetings and a big fan following.

Sri Lanka, the defending Asia Cup champions, and Bangladesh are in Group B with Afghanistan. The matches between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are expected to be extremely competitive and closely monitored by cricket fans & enthusiasts.

Nepal’s Historic Debut Spot in Asia Cup 2023

It will be a debut season for Nepal as the team won the ACC Men’s Premier Cup and beat UAE in the championship match to earn a spot in Asia Cup 2023. The seven-wicket win, fuelled by Gulshan Kumar Jha’s steady 84-ball 67, clinched Nepal’s qualifying for the Asia Cup 2023. Nepal will be taking part in the Asia Cup for the first time.

In terms of venue, The Asia Cup will be co-hosted by multiple countries for the first time this year. Four matches will take place in Pakistan, while the rest nine matches, including the final, will take place in Sri Lanka.
